Epic adventure starring Rossana Podesta and Jacques Sernas. During his voyage to negotiate a peace between the Trojans and Spartans, Paris is shipwrecked and washed up on the Spartan shore. Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

Partly based on Homer, this excursion into Greek myth was filmed in Italy by Robert Wise, the future director of West Side Story and The Sound of Music, and boasts a weird cast. Jack Sernas as Paris and Rossana Podesta as Helen are a lacklustre romantic couple, while Stanley Baker's Achilles is a real heel. Janette Scott and a pre-stardom Brigitte Bardot add support, and future 007 designer Ken Adam contributes to the decor. It's a bit of a slog, though, until the wooden horse lumbers into view and starts the sacking of Troy.
