A Piece of the Action

The third teaming of Sidney Poitier and Bill Cosby (after Uptown Saturday Night and Let's Do It Again) continues their comic misadventures as two con artists up to their ears in complications. This time they avoid a jail sentence by volunteering to work with under-privileged kids. Although a well-intentioned, occasionally funny farce, exploiting the easy charm and chemistry between the two able leads, Poitier's direction tends to overemphasise the more preachy and saccharine elements.
