A British Army Officer returns to civilian life after WWII. He finds that his wife is running a successful employment agency so he must become a "house husband". He doesn't find this at all easy, so he gets together with some of his ex-army pals and they try to start a catering company.
A stalwart of the British documentary tradition, Pat Jackson specialised in such realistic projects as the wartime dramatised documentary Western Approaches. He was obviously uncomfortable with this intractable mix of demob drama and gender comedy. Struggling to adapt to peacetime, war hero Anthony Steel feels so emasculated by the success of wife Patricia Roc's secretarial agency that he determines to set up his own mobile catering business. Steel's misadventures and the couple's domestic disaffection are mildly diverting. But many viewers will be dismayed that this battle of the sexes ends with such a chauvinist truce.
