Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

The title refers to the vanishing act of a failed young Irish footballer from his home on a Dublin housing estate. Initially a mournful study of the repercussions of Finbar's departure, the film takes on an altogether more humorous tone when his best friend (Luke Griffin) embarks on a Scandinavian odyssey to seek some answers. Griffin's journey provides a few oddly appealing moments and, although the film possesses the strange look of two different movies spliced together, the curious clash of tones and cultures is not without offbeat charm.
