Review

A star rating of 1 out of 5.

Surely one of the all-time movie howlers. For sheer nerve the makers ought to have grabbed an Oscar for attempting to demonise an animal not much bigger than a mouse. But these are not just ordinary shrews, but the rampaging and flesh-eating side effects of genetic research carried out by bonkers scientist Baruch Lumet (father of noted director Sidney Lumet). Lacklustre to say the least, the film boasts inept special effects - the mutated shrews are in reality greyhounds sporting shaggy coats and plastic fangs - and bargain basement production values, all factors which have contributed to its status today as a cult bad movie. Watch and enjoy, for all the wrong reasons.
