Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

The street of the title is a rather grim one in London's Battersea, before the place became gentrified, wherein a womanising lodger (Ian Hendry) seduces overburdened mother (June Ritchie). She becomes infatuated with him, but he dumps her for her sister. A well-written, nicely shot squalor fest, based on Nan Maynard's novel. Fascinating fact: Mike Pratt and Annette Andre later starred together in the original TV series, Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased).
