Musical starring Arthur Tracy and Lilli Palmer. When a popular singer suffers stage fright and loses his voice, he runs away to join a band of gypsies and ends up as an ordinary street singer.
Another of the feeble British vehicles that attempted to make a film star out of Arthur Tracy, popular on radio as "The Street Singer". This one has him playing an entertainer who, suffering from stage fright, takes up with a band of nomads and falls in love with a gypsy girl. An unconvincing tale, awash with sentimentality and treacly ballads, whose sole points of interest are Lilli Palmer and the splendid Finlay Currie (Magwitch in David Lean's Great Expectations).
