Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

The insidious saga of the maniac who collects survivors of his home-invasion killing sprees continues with this even grislier follow-up to The Collector (2009). Here, the masked mystery man starts with a vicious cull of clubbers at a backstreet venue where he grabs tycoon's daughter Elena (Emma Fitzpatrick) and spirits her back to his charnel-house lair. To the reluctant rescue comes Josh Stewart's Arkin, the shell-shocked survivor from the first film, who's press-ganged into helping a crack squad of mercenaries save Elena. Of course, their best-laid plans fall foul of the killer's brutal booby traps and soon everyone is in a battle royale to escape in one piece, whether it's from spiders, dogs or the fiend's other demented victims. It's not as suspenseful or intense as The Collector, but if you like horror to be a lethal labyrinth with elaborate traps around every corner, then this should be right up your bloody alley.
