Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

John Beal plays a psychologist who enters Harbour State Prison to interview a variety of prisoners, including a safecracker, an embezzler and a killer. Based on Donald Powell Wilson's bestselling novel, this quasi-documentary was produced by message movie maestro Stanley Kramer and was intended to give convicts a human face, even a sense of humour. Some scenes were shot inside the actual San Quentin prison, using real convicts as extras.
