Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

This better-than-average sequel to The Beastmaster has benevolent barbarian Dar (Marc Singer) following evil ruler Arklon (Wings Hauser) through a time gate, opened by sorceress Sarah Douglas, to modern-day Los Angeles. Arklon wants the "neutron detonator" to secure world domination; Dar - aided by his trusty eagle, tiger and two ferrets - tries to stop him. It's a likeable, kiddie-orientated comic book fantasy tinged with light camp comedy, though the second sequel, Beastmaster III: the Eye of Braxus, marked a major step down for the middling series.
