Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

Here's a real novelty a 20th Century-Fox musical with an original plot twist. Would you believe Alice Faye as the descendant of Edgar Allan Poe? And that she despises musical comedy? An unlikely peg on which to hang the appearance of a lot of vaudeville troupers, but this movie's got a cast-and-a-half for connoisseurs: the Ritz Brothers, Louis Prima, Tony Martin, and Tip, Tap and Toe. And watch out for featured Louise Hovick better known as Gypsy Rose Lee. Faye is her usual self, and sings the title with style, but the plot eventually defeats her. It doesn't matter, though: it's all expertly done, and fans of Faye and Don Ameche need no recommendation.
