An orphaned boarding-school graduate secretly attends a prestigious ball, where she falls for the boyfriend of her snobbish cousin.
Only significant now for Deanna Durbin receiving her first proper screen kiss, from Robert Stack in his movie debut no less - in truth, that's all there really is to say. Hard to imagine the impact nowadays, but when singing superstar Durbin puckered up to receive her sensational smackeroo from handsome Stack, audiences were enthralled. As for the plot, it's a version of Cinderella with orphan Deanna hived off to an aunt and uncle. However, it's all rather charming, and Durbin does gets to belt out a few choice songs.
