Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

The title pretty much sums up the story of this animated children's Christmas tale, which sees Santa's most famous sledge-puller rescuing presents from the sinister Toy Taker. Although there are yuletide-laced hints of the Toy Story films here, the demands of the target audience mean that the humour is far simpler, and the vocal performances of villain Rick Moranis, snowman-narrator Richard Dreyfuss and hippo-queen Jamie Lee Curtis are less than special. But what really lets this production down is the choppy, cheap looking computer animation, which resembles a computer-game intro. There are some catchy sing-a-long tunes, but only pre-school viewers will find this entertaining.
