A madcap private-eye caper about a team of detectives who are following, and are being followed by, a group of beautiful women.
A rare opportunity to see this stylish and splendidly wacky comedy about detectives who can't help getting involved with the women they are tailing. It's important as a late Audrey Hepburn entry, and she looks as lovely as ever, co-starring here with Ben Gazzara on wonderfully evocative New York locations (shades of Breakfast at Tiffany's). Director Peter Bogdanovich, seriously underrated and unfashionable these days, pulls it all together with great élan, aided by a quirky cast, out of which Blaine Novak and lovely Patti Hansen shine. Former centrefold Dorothy Stratten, who was Bogdanovich's lover at the time, was murdered before the film was released.
