Review

A star rating of 1 out of 5.

This indigestible slice of 1980s horror pulp centres on a boy whose telekinetic powers conjure up a red-eyed monster that resides in his closet. The result is an odd mix of mawkish family drama and graphic gore; 1950s star Tab Hunter has the right idea when he exits this dull affair early on. When it arrives, the Carlo Rambaldi-designed creature wouldn't terrify a Muppets fan - a real letdown from the man who created ET. Directed by Armand Mastroianni (don't be fooled by the distinguished-sounding name), this is one film that should have stayed firmly locked in the closet and never allowed to see daylight.
