Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

Though set in the mid-1950s, this dysfunctional-family drama is far less rock 'n' roll than the time frame and Fats Domino-derived title might suggest. Carrie Snodgress plays an overwound mum and Jennifer Rubin is the daughter who discovers the twin secrets about her dad's death and her inheritance of his honkytonk piano-playing skills. Matt Lattanzi co-stars. For five minutes back in the late 1980s, Lattanzi was being touted as the next big thing. Like this film, he's been little heard of since.
