Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

Screwball black comedy, with Peter Falk and Elaine May as houseguests of nutty new-age mystic Marlo Thomas. The couple need brass balls rather than crystal ones when unforeseen circumstances make them targets of a killer who's already polished off the prostitute next door. But despite a great cast - which includes Olympia Dukakis - the combination of irritating material and unlikeable characters is more likely to inspire contempt than admiration. Watch out for a single-scene cameo from Melanie Griffith as the not-so-happy hooker.
