Condition Critical

It's Hercules with a stethoscope in this serviceable medical thriller. But Kevin Sorbo seems a little out of place as one of the team of doctors under pressure to find a cure for a mystery virus that is threatening their city. The pilot for a series that was never taken up, this harks back to such "bug on the loose" films as Panic in the Streets. Denis Arndt and Joanna Pacula give more convincing performances as medics, but there's no real focus for the action and, consequently, the suspense never builds with any pace or intrigue.
