Musical comedy starring Jessie Matthews and Robert Young. A chorus girl runs into trouble when she decides to impersonate a fictional tiger hunter created by a journalist.
The ever-delightful Jessie Matthews is in fine fettle in this frothy concoction that perfectly showcases both her musical talent and her vivacious comic personality. As a showgirl posing as a big-game-hunting socialite, she runs rings round columnist Robert Young, who had been imported by producer Michael Balcon to give the film some stateside oomph. Lacking the glamour of a Hollywood musical (in spite of some impossibly chic Art Deco sets), this is still a pleasurable romp, with Sonnie Hale (Matthews's real-life husband at the time) amusing as the rival reporter responsible for the scam and Robb Wilton hilarious as Young's valet.
