Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

Tom Berenger's career - so promising around the time of Platoon, for which he was Oscar nominated - took a downward turn with this daft, if imaginative, attempt at a light-hearted film noir by writer/director Alan Rudolph. A private detective, hired by a beautiful woman, ends up following the wrong man and is himself tailed by a female detective. Still with us? Well, you won't be after an hour and a half of mistaken identities, tortuous plot twists and below-par acting from Anne Archer and the usually reliable Elizabeth Perkins.
