A young man with money falls for singer Pat Thatcher, and her con man father makes the most of it.
This minor backstage musical only really comes to life when Bill Robinson tapdances his way onto the screen supported by Fats Waller and others. Gene Raymond stars as the rich college kid who sinks all his wealth into a stage show starring the girl he loves, a singer played by Ann Sothern. Lionel Stander is amusing as a Russian orchestra conductor while Thurston Hall (as Sothern's conman father) is seen starting an incredibly active period as a Hollywood character actor after being off screen since the early 1920s.
