Drama starring Richard Ganoung and Steve Buscemi. Michael, a young man whose best friend is dying of an Aids-related illness, becomes unsettled by the imminent departure abroad of Robert, his long-term lover.
Set during 24 hours in the Aids-ravaged confines of New York's swanky gay scene, director Bill Sherwood's earnestly tender drama is an old-fashioned love story at heart about two men finishing their relationship because one gets a job transfer abroad. Basically a series of heartfelt farewells to friends and family, this bold and outspoken, character-driven ensemble piece tells its bittersweet tale with warmth, grace and droll humour. Steve Buscemi puts in an early appearance as a dying musician. Sherwood himself died of an Aids-related illness in 1990.
