Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

Shown on US cable under the more apt title Cowboys and Idiots, this mediocre chase comedy has plenty of plot, but far too few laughs. Joshua Jackson works hard as the Texan asked by his stepsister-cum-fiancée to keep her cousin out of trouble while she's away. However, he struggles to convey the desperation of a man losing every semblance of control, as the cousin (DJ Qualls) and his dumb buddy (Ryan Hurst) fall foul of irate drug pushers, while Jackson himself is stalked by Thomas Haden Church, the man he fingered for his father's murder. It's busy, but laborious.
