Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

A fine adaptation of Oscar Wilde's fun fantasy about a cursed ghost and the young girl he befriends. This features X-Men star Patrick Stewart (also doubling as co-producer) and Scream's Neve Campbell, who both deliver superb performances. The comedy side of the story is deliberately played down and the pathos brought centre stage, with very touching results. Sterling British support from a cast that includes Cherie Lunghi, Donald Sinden, Leslie Phillips and Carry On stalwart Joan Sims makes this made-for-TV production one of the best versions of the oft-told tale.
