Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

In this potentially interesting but bungled Second World War drama, Tina Louise plays a sort of Mata Hari figure who infiltrates a group of GIs to discover the Allied Forces' strength and tactics. The soldiers squabble for her favours, but the leader remains sceptical. Louise looks good but lacks the dramatic range to carry off the demanding role, and she's not helped by a script that deals strictly in clichés. The film also offers a non-musical starring role for Howard Keel. "He should've sung," wrote sixth-billed Burt Reynolds. "We needed all the help we could get."
