Black Crab

Noomi Rapace anchors this Scandi action thriller, playing a traumatised soldier in a post-apocalypse future engulfed by a catastrophic war. The Girl with a Dragon Tattoo star plays soldier Caroline Edh, who's called up for a suicidal mission to deliver a mysterious package that could end the conflict for good. The twist here is that Edh and her five colleagues are picked for their ability to rapidly cross a frozen archipelago a hundred miles behind enemy lines. It makes for an intriguing adventure, as the serene scenery is punctuated by sudden encounters with thin ice, enemy soldiers and helicopter gunships, as well as suspicions there's a traitor in the group. Director Adam Berg keeps the tension high during this part of his feature debut, but that soon disappears once all is revealed at journey's end.
