Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

Patrick McGoohan is superb in this British-made Disney fantasy about a veterinary surgeon whose decision to put down his daughter's ailing cat leads to magical encounters with a mysterious stranger. McGoohan is nicely supported by Susan Hampshire and Finlay Currie, but the adult leads are no match for the delightful Karen Dotrice as McGoohan's daughter or a very scene-stealing feline. Director Don Chaffey would go on to direct McGoohan in cult British television series The Prisoner.
