Review
Hollywood's favourite psycho Christopher Walken is beautifully understated in this wryly melancholic crime caper about a bunch of small-time crooks. Walken is a former robber, an expert on cracking safes, who is dragged back into the life of crime by his Irish cousin (Peter McDonald) who offers him the opportunity to solve his financial woes. First time director Myles Connell stages some nifty robbery set pieces, but most of the enjoyment comes from the interplay between the disparate gang of losers. Walken steals the show but he is well supported by an eclectic cast, which includes former 1980s singing star Cyndi Lauper.
