Review

A star rating of 1 out of 5.

This early Hammer B-feature was one of several based on BBC radio programmes, in this case Meet the Rev, a popular series about a parson turned detective. Its star, Hugh Moxey, made his screen debut in a feeble story in which the Reverend Simon Cherry tries to take a much-needed holiday. Wouldn't you know it, though: his car breaks down and an overnight stay at the nearest manor produces a corpse by morning. Hammer thought of making a series, but concentrated instead on other radio stars, Dick Barton and PC 49, who were deemed to have greater appeal.
