A rich, beautiful couple give birth to deformed alien twins who, when their heads are together, are the smartest kids on the planet.
The handful of attempts made to bring the work of cult novelist Kurt Vonnegut to the big screen have all met with less than resounding success. Slapstick of Another Kind is no exception. A would-be satirical comedy about the birth of huge, hideously ugly twins (Jerry Lewis and Madeline Kahn) who in reality are super-intelligent beings from another planet, the film widely misses the mark. A strong cast ensure that some good moments survive but all in all it demonstrates the difficulty certain idiosyncratic novelists have with their on-screen adaptations. Unseen in the US until 1984.
