Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

You've got to give the TV-movie industry its due - no sooner does a subject capture the public imagination, than it receives a feature-length treatment for the small-screen. But, just because this thriller concerns a single mother whose son is thought to have psychic powers, don't suppose you're in for a remake of The Sixth Sense. It's not that subtle, but neither is it totally unoriginal. Director Douglas Jackson cranks up the suspense efficiently enough, and there are typically competent performances from Stefanie Powers as the woman in peril and Margot Kidder as her neighbour. Just don't be surprised if the ending seems rather familiar.
