Gunfight at Comanche Creek

Audie Murphy follows in the footsteps of George Montgomery in a remake of the 1957 western Last of the Badmen. In this hybrid of a 1940s-style detective movie and the traditional western, detective Bob Gifford (Murphy) poses as an outlaw to infiltrate a particularly ruthless gang of robbers. Their cunning plan involves using escaped convicts to commit further crimes, and then killing them so they can collect the bounty. Murphy's lightweight style undermines the potential for suspense.
