Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

A horror-themed amusement park turns into a real-life killing ground when a gang of partying college students become prey for a masked maniac in this by-the-book gore offering. Plucky Natalie (Amy Forsyth) fears a stalking slasher is on their tail but none of her pals take her warnings seriously until the body count starts to rise and the obligatory fight-for-life begins in earnest. Director Gregory Plotkin borrows from various horror franchises along the way, resulting in an ongoing game of spot-the-reference for viewers, although the box-ticking has a tendency to get in the way of any tangible building of tension. The grisly set-pieces are fairly well executed, despite most of them being visible from miles away, undermining the narrative's attempts to deliver any truly shocking jolts.
