Horror starring Peter Cushing. In the 19th century, a police inspector investigates the brutal murders of two men - both students of entomologist Professor Mallinger.
Peter Cushing considered this clumsy chiller the worst picture he ever made. In many respects he was right. He plays the policeman investigating vampire-style murders carried out by a giant death's-head moth masquerading as the "daughter" of a renowned Victorian entomologist. Well, it must have seemed a good idea at the time! Vernon Sewell's direction barely papers over the pedestrian cracks in an equally moth-eaten screenplay decked out with a catalogue of dodgy horror clichés.
