Review
It must have seemed a good idea at the time to get several of the New Wave French directors to give their slant on the seven deadly sins. But the result is a hit-and-miss affair, as with so many portmanteau films, with a mixture of good, average and awful. Among the better episodes are Philipe de Broca's "Gluttony" Roger Vadim's "Pride", Jacques Demy's "Lust", and Jean-Luc Godard's "Sloth" - about a film star (Eddie Constantine) who is too lazy to have sex even when offered to him on a plate. The other three sins were committed by Claude Chabrol ("Greed"), Edouard Molinaro ("Envy") and Sylvain Dhomme ("Anger").
