Comedy thriller starring Robert Redford, Debra Winger and Daryl Hannah. An assistant DA becomes involved with a beautiful and mysterious woman, a priceless painting, and multiple murder. It looks like an open and shut case, but he soon finds himself the target of both the young woman's affections and the murderous intent of the killer.
This high-gloss courtroom comedy thriller was director Ivan Reitman's next movie after his mega-hit Ghost Busters. Robert Redford and Debra Winger star as attorneys involved in the unusual case of an artist (Daryl Hannah) accused of stealing a painting by her late father. It's not long before district attorney Redford has hopped over the fence to help defence lawyer Winger get to the bottom of the art-fraud conspiracy behind the case. There's plenty of star appeal and sexual chemistry, but the script (by Top Gun writers Jim Cash and Jack Epps) tends towards flabbiness. The result is entertaining but unmemorable.
