Review

A star rating of 1 out of 5.

In the 1930s, Gaumont British was one of the jewels of the domestic industry. However, beneath the Rank umbrella, it fell on such hard times that this dismal quickie was par for its course. A poor imitation of The Lady Vanishes, this train-bound comedy thriller is devoid of thrills and utterly lacking in eccentricity - despite the presence of May Hallat and Ivy St Helier as a couple of dotty whodunnit writers. The screwball by-play between honeymooning reporters Vernon Gray and Ann Walford is equally bogus, as they seek to prevent Patrick Boxill from swiping a consignment of gold.
