Petrified Peter Cushing has written a book proving that cats are planning world domination and tries to persuade Ray Milland to publish it on the strength of the trio of creepy tales related here. In the first, Simon Williams and Susan Penhaligon try to cheat Joan Greenwood's cats out of their inheritance, while in the second an orphan shrinks her evil cousin and uses her as a cat toy. Mercifully it gets no worse because Donald Pleasence and Samantha Eggar put some vim into their Pit and the Pendulum pastiche. Overall, however, this dismal portmanteau picture induces more cringes than chills.
