Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

Released in the UK as Bundle of Trouble, this is the 19th film in Columbia's long-running domestic comedy series based on the popular cartoon strip by Chic Young. Penny Singleton returns as the scatty housewife whose boundless energy and genius for misadventure inevitably land her long-suffering husband Dagwood (played, as ever, by Arthur Lake) in hot water with his boss. With the departure of Jonathan Hale, veteran Hollywood smoothie Jerome Cowan becomes the head of Dagwood's firm, and is far from happy when Blondie's bid for acting stardom affects her hubby's work. Predictable sitcom fare, but it's harmless fun.
