Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

This early collaboration for Ghost Busters director Ivan Reitman and Bill Murray is solely dependent on its star for laughs, and there aren't that many of those. Murray plays a goofy counsellor at a Canadian summer camp who acts like an idiot. But he has a softer side, too, which comes to the fore when he takes a young loner under his wing. No better or worse than dozens of other similarly plotted comedies, although Reitman has the good sense to get Murray on screen as often as possible. However, the wacky high jinks don't sit too well with the stabs at emotional depth.
