Lifepod

Inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's Lifeboat, and co-scripted by Pen Densham, who worked on Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, actor-turned-director Ron Silver's "stranded in space" saga is a great example of stylish economical film-making. Silver uses claustrophobic tricks to great advantage to tell the tale of survivors escaping aboard an emergency spacepod when their Venusian cruiser explodes. Exciting, fast-moving and containing many memorable twists, this is a neat mix of Agatha Christie whodunnit and Alien paranoia.
