Probably the best of the Betty Grable vehicles. For once, she had a decent director in George Seaton, who ensured that the garish 20th Century-Fox production was well appointed - check those wacky condiment costumes! - and that the songs were well above the usual recycled period standards. This is the film that introduced the endearing hit The More I See You. Grable and co-star Dick Haymes are well supported by troupers Phil Silvers and Margaret Dumont, but the plot's as meagre as usual.
