Review
Adapted from Peter Shaffer's play The Public Eye, this one-hour comedy is inexcusably strung out to 93 minutes by the playwright and the director, Carol Reed. While some of this time is justifiably taken up with photographer Christopher G Challis's loving images of London, too much is occupied with Topol's ham-fisted buffoonery. He plays a detective hired by priggish accountant Michael Jayston to spy on his free-spirited wife. Mia Farrow's innocent perambulations have an undeniable charm as the misunderstood wife.
