Review

A star rating of 1 out of 5.

Nine-year-old Mike Weinberg fills the shoes long-since vacated by Macaulay Culkin for this vain attempt to keep the moribund franchise alive. Here, Kevin McCallister's parents have separated and his siblings are nastier to him than ever. With Christmas approaching, he decides to escape to his dad's new girlfriend's place, which just happens to be a multi-million-dollar mansion with all the trimmings. But old adversary Marv (originally Daniel Stern, but now played by 3rd Rock from the Sun's French Stewart) is planning a kidnapping. And, surprise, surprise - Kevin is left to save the day. Missi Pyle (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) provides a glimmer of humour as Marv's accomplice, but other than that, you have to wonder why they bothered.
