Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

Richard Pryor can be an acquired taste, and his concert films are variable, but on form there are few more astute comedians. In this, culled from two one-man shows at the Hollywood Palladium, he is in subdued mood. The Mafia, his drug abuse and his trip to Africa are among the diverse subjects covered, and he even picks up on some of the sick humour directed at his own accident, when he set himself alight while on a cocaine binge. Honest and funny.
