Stompin' at the Savoy

No, not London's grand hotel but Harlem's Savoy Ballroom, where four black domestic workers in their late thirties spend time dancing their troubles away. Loosely based around the lives of scriptwriter Beverly M Sawyer's mother and her sisters, who left North Carolina for New York's glittering pavements, it's a TV movie with more dramatic charm than most.
