Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

The mere mention of the name Ann Jillian should tip you off that we are in true-life TV movie land here. But this story about a woman's determination to explain her sister's sudden disappearance is well above the usual standard. Looking typically angst-ridden, Jillian begins to fire on all cylinders as she uncovers more and more unsavoury details about her brother-in-law and discovers the lengths to which the police will go to protect one of their own. Graeme Campbell, who also made the fairly dreadful 1988 Canadian thriller Into the Fire, directs here with assurance and restraint, while Joe Penny provides some cynical villainy.
