Cult director Roger Corman's prehistoric Rebel without a Cause is justly famous for its catchpenny title, cheap dinosaurs (borrowed from the very silly and cheap One Million BC made by Hal Roach in 1940), the "stuffed deer" scene and lead actor Robert Vaughn in his pre-Man from UNCLE days. He's the titular boy who breaks tribal rules and ventures into the "forbidden land", where he learns his violent society is really a post-apocalyptic one. Vaughn calls this "one of the best-worst films of all time": he's right, but its tackiness is engaging and Corman imbues it with a naive charm.
