Black comedy starring Diane Lane, James LeGros and Stephen Collins. Debbie and Gerald, a 30-something couple, live the American Dream. Then, one day, Gerald insists on buying Debbie a revolver and nothing is quite the same again, particularly when Skippy, a dangerously attractive neighbour, steals the gun.

Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

This charming, eccentric slice of Americana provided Diane Lane with a juicy role, playing an ordinary suburban housewife who strikes up a curious relationship with wild neighbour James LeGros. When LeGros steals the gun Lane's husband (Stephen Collins) bought her for protection, a series of events unfolds that changes her life for ever. Writer/director Stacy Cochran, in her first feature, pokes some wry fun at the American obsession with weaponry, and there are winning performances from Lane, LeGros, Tess Harper and the cast-against-type Collins.
