Review
Back in the silent era, Mary Pickford's little-girl mannerisms earned her the title of "The World's Sweetheart". This was her first talkie, in which she plays a southern belle whose flirtation with handsome beau Johnny Mack Brown gets her into big trouble. Pickford won an Oscar for the film, though the award was really in recognition of her previous work; the public weren't quite ready to see her as a Deep South damsel.
